Experienced executive poised to lead focused effort and strategic investment in region.
September 12, 2016 – Universal Instruments announces the appointment of Sean Lu as General Manager, Asia, reporting to Brad Bennett, Vice President of Global Customer Operations. All customer-facing resources in the region will report to Dr. Lu.
Dr. Lu has more than 25 years’ experience in the machine tools and semiconductor equipment industry in various leadership roles, including engineering, business development and also as general manager in the United States and in Taiwan. He most recently held positions of Senior Director of Asia Technical Support Operations at Applied Materials and Senior Director of Strategic Programs at ASM International. Dr. Lu’s education includes a master’s degree and PhD, which he earned at the University of Minnesota.
Bennett noted that, “As a global company, we’re ecstatic to build our team with someone of Sean’s cultural experiences. He has maintained management positions in the US and in six countries in Asia. Further, he has proven to be results oriented by implementing sound strategies and taking a hands-on approach.” Bennett added, “Sean is an excellent communicator who is technically sound.
