Material Dispensing

Universal Instruments offers several versatile material dispense options to help eliminate bottlenecks, without the commitment of dedicated dispense equipment. Platform dispense options include the value-driven performance of AdVantis XS™, and proven lineage of the GSM® Platform. All of these machines use Archimedes Metering Valve (AMV) Head technology, and combine powerfully with both mixed-vendor and dedicated Universal Instruments lines to increase versatility and boost throughput. Integrate Universal's Dot Inspection Station to automatically calibrate adhesive deposition and verify dot diameter and placement on-line for applications where dot size and quality are critical and where machine setup or product changeover occur frequently.

Universal's Polaris Assembly Cell presents two material dispensing alternatives among it's many other capabilities. The Polaris Multi-Process Assembly Cell performs multiple operations, including dispense, on a single cell incorporating independent, quick-release tool modules. The Polaris Junior assembly Cell offers efficient, single-process dispense capability in a scalable cell width.

All Universal Instruments dispense options are modular. Heads can be exchanged quickly, via common interfaces, to meet a variety of assembly demands and offer maximum performance. Dedicated dispensers can suffer utilization levels as low as 20%. However, Universal’s dispense solutions can easily be retooled to combine component placement with dispensing capability and increase overall line utilization.

AdVantis AX-72 Platform

The AdVantis AX-72 can be configured with a 7-spindle placement head and a dispense head to deliver two technologies on the same platform and improve utilization.

AdVantis XS Platform

A high accuracy flip chip placement platform utilizing high magnification cameras and advanced assembly options. The AdVantis XS can also be configured with dispense capability, including underfill.

Polaris Multi-Process Assembly Cell

Flexible automation of traditionally manual, end-of-line assembly processes. Multiple operations can be performed in a single cell, including dispensing, vision inspection, screw driving, pick and place, bar code reading, labeling, and many other operations.

Polaris Junior Assembly Cell

Economical, single-process final assembly providing the exact amount of functionality to meet specific requirements. A standard interface and large portfolio of existing tool modules enable a wide range of applications on a common platform.
