Transcend Strengthens Co-operation with Universal Instruments

Transcend Information, a global leading memory module manufacturer, has recently further enhanced its production capacity by bringing into line Universal Instruments’ flagship product, Genesis GC-120Q.

April 22, 2008 - Transcend Information, a global leading memory module manufacturer, has recently further enhanced its production capaThe addition of GC-120Q, one of the fastest quad-gantry chip placement machines, has helped Transcend quickly expand its production capability to meet the increasing demand of its products which have won numerous industry awards.

Benjamin Tzou, R&D Director of Transcend Information, said, “Transcend focuses our efforts on providing the highest quality products. Its GC-120Q meets our demand in a high mix and high volume production environment. Furthermore, its ease of maintenance, minimal downtime, and high cost effectiveness greatly appeal to us.”

Recently, Transcend has received two awards including the “Best Flash Brand” title in Russia’s iXBT Magazine’s 2007 Best Brand Award, and the “Best Product” and “Best Buy” awards presented by PC World Greece Magazine for its aXeRam overclocking memory.

GC-120Q is a quad-gantry model with a maximum throughput up to 120,000cph giving rise to superior cost-per-placement and throughput-per-square meter metrics for the high-end chip market. It can support components ranging from 01005 to 30 square mm.

“Our plant in Shanghai is now our global manufacturing centre responsible for our entire production. It is imperative for us to work with the best production partners,” said Mr Tzou.

“In addition to cost-effectiveness, Universal Instruments provides very good after sales services. They can quickly adjust the production lines to meet our requirements. Besides, they offer training to our staff from time to time. Its Advanced Process Laboratory in Shanghai also helps us in solving technical problems.” Transcend’s co-operation with Universal Instruments can be dated back to a couple of years ago when it began to install AdVantis AC-72.
